THREE BIG REASONS TO AVOID!

Our stay was terrible in three ways: 1. PAYING EXTRA! As checking in to the hotel, we had to pay extra "resort fee" ~50 USD per night. This was not mentioned clearly anywhere or it was mentioned as a possibility to buy extra amenities. They required us to pay for services and drinks that we did not even want to have. We felt scammed and disappointed. 2. OCCUPIED ROOM! As we got our room keys and into our room we realized that the room was already occupied by another guest. The guest was not there, but all his/hers belongings were there all over the room. So they gave us access to a wrong room! Not really reliable from the hotel! So be aware that there is a risk that someone can get into your room and/or steal your belongings. After this we got an upgraded room as a compensation. 3. COCKROACHES! There was one scurrying in our bathroom. Went to the desk and got another room but still left us with a feeling that there are cockroaches everywhere. Had a talk with the hotel manager twice. He was not that apologizing but listened to our complaints. He promised to give us a compensation. Nothing happened during our stay but after few weeks we received a compensation of 100 USD. All in all very bad experience to us and left us with a feeling of a sinking ship with staff that did not care at all about their guests.

Worst hotel I’ve ever attempted to stay with. Waited on the streets of Chicago at 8pm for 45 minutes, with all of our luggage, for someone to respond to my text to “check us in.” When someone finally did answer she told me my card was being declined because of insufficient funds. She was attempting to charge me an additional $312 for incidentals, taxes, membership fee, and a non refundable deposit. I had already paid a total of $350 to stay with this hotel. I was told I was paying $55 when getting to hotel. When I addressed this to the women on the phone she told me it wasn’t her fault I’m too poor to stay at her hotel. Me and my boyfriend ended up not staying and driving 3 hours back home. When I called hotel next day to try and talk to a manager no one picked up for hours and when I finally got a hold of someone the same women was there and told me if I didn’t stop calling the hotel she was going to block me and call the cops for harassment. She told me it’s not her fault I’m a broke ass bitch and hung up on me.

I booked my reservation on booking.com and the prices aren’t included extra charges named “amenity packages” which are around 50 $. So any messages and info should be read carefully. Beyond this problem, the hot water on bath can be cold suddenly. Although these negative issues, the location of the hotel is admirable. You can visit The Magnificent Mile part and it is at city center. So the transportation is so easy.

Scam - forced, compulsory upgrade package that is worthless - reception will slap on in excess of $100 per night for some BS discount card that you won’t use and some cans of soda. Also exorbitant breakage deposit you pay per night. Absolute shakedown - hotel itself is average but the barefaced scam is world class. Avoid.

This place is a scam. They charged me for additional "fees" that they never told me about. I ended up paying more that double of the original price. There is no one at the front desk; you check in by texting someone. They send you a link to a multi-page document with fine print, which I suppose you are supposed to read, on your phone no less. Without telling me about the fees, they made me sign this document. If there was a real person at a hotel front desk, that person would tell you about the fee, then ask you for your card. Because the check in is done through texting, they sneak the fees on you without telling you.
